This page contains resources for my MYFest25 workshop: Mindful Writing with Haiku and Other Short-Form Poetry. The Zoom session will take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 11AM Central time, and I'll post the video recording here after it becomes available.

One difference from the original workshop description: I found so many great haiku materials to share with you, like the Living Haiku Anthology, that I won't be talking about other short-form poetry... but that's why I have created this website: Doing Haiku. I'll be sharing resources here in the future about haiku and related short-form poetry.

Another difference: Instead of writing haiku poetry together, we will play a haiku game!

Here's how that will work: We will be using 3 connected slidedecks, and they are available now if you want to explore them in advance.

There is no advance preparation needed: I have provided the slidedecks just so you can take a look if you want!

To play the game, you will need 2 sheets of notebook paper and a pen or pencil. But you do not have to play the game; I hope the workshop will be valuable for anyone who wants to just listen in.
